Hi, I'm Lorenzo

Project manager. Parent. An expat living in Florence, Italy.

A few years back, I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Started

Moving to Italy wasn't part of the master plan. Like many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far larger.

The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more challenging than expected.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt solid.

Why I Built Misty Valley Hub

Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.

This site exists to fill that gap — practical advice grounded in real life in Italy.

What This Site Covers (And What It Doesn’t)

This site is:

  • Firsthand experience from living in Italy
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Updated whenever something truly changes

This site isn't:

  • An official tourism resource
  • A paid review platform
  • A generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our time in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.

If you have questions about family life in Florence or anywhere in Italy, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Best regards,

Lorenzo
